WHAT IS A FOREX GRID STRATEGY?

Forex Grid strategies are by far the most popular strategies, cause traders like the enormous profits. However, grid strategies carry more than average risk and I will explain what grid EA’s are.
Although you might think grid systems are the same as Martingale strategies there is a difference. The difference is that grid strategies do not double up the lot size. So once you see a forex robot entering positions with the following entry steps, you are definitely looking at a Martingale strategy; 1 lots – 2 lots – 4 lots – 8 lots – 16 lots etc. As a result you will not find any Martingale EA in the featured robot section, since doubling up lot size we consider as too risky. Martingale does not always have to be bad as long as you understand that these EAs can “blow up ” your account. As a result you will need a lot of margin in your account.
Advantages of Grid strategies:
  • Trade 24/5
  • Minimum influence for stop loss hunting
  • Not very spread sensitive
  • Behaves well in thin markets
  • Great results in ranging markets
  • Triple digits returns
  • Can be manually managed
So to pick currency pairs that are ranging will definitely decrease your risk.
Disadvantages
  • Higher leverage required
  • No stop loss near first entry
  • Increase risk during strong market trends
The Grid EA’s on this website are listed as one of the best forex robots in the market. They use different steps which makes the strategy more effective in trending markets. Make sure you test a grid EA before using it in a live account.
The best forex grid robot to use is probably the Piphiker, which you can test for free.

Grid Trading

The Forex grid system has become quite popular among traders because it’s easy to visualise. However, it is important to know that there’s no guarantee. If you want to succeed with the grid system, you must know how to execute the system correctly. To use strategies related to the Forex grid system, you have to understand:
The good news is, you can set up an automatic Forex grid trading system which can remove the pain of manually placing trades. The great thing about a grid trading system is that it helps you get a return on your investment even in volatile market conditions. This way, it eliminates the need to predict the market’s direction, making the choice quite simple.

How does grid trading start?

Say I have 100 USD and 0 EUR. how can I place sell orders if I'm not currently holding EUR? Do I have to be 50/50 in the market to grid trade? Or do I start with a grid of buy orders and wait for them to trigger before placing sell orders?
Thanks

Grid Trading?

I've only recently learned about algobots and more specifically ones that do Grid Trading, while I get that its an insanely risky way to play, Im still curious about it, I assume it works best in range bound markets right? therefore are there any instruments, forex or otherwise that would do really well in Grid Trading? ie, no colossal shifts in price?

Thank you in advance!

Which is the best auto trading robot for forex market?

I would not dare to say that there is any best auto trading robot for Forex Market. There may be in the world, but it probably not for sales nor for the public. If you have been in the forex market for a while, you will naturally become curious about automating your trades when you have a strategy and money management that bring profitability consistently.
I am an active signals follower and been in this industry for years thus these are a few tips before choosing a profitable robot in the market.
Drawdown
It is common that you study drawdown before diving into any EA. As this is the likely losses you will incur in the strategy you are engaging. The certain trading robot drawdown could get as high as 80% which I would not recommend. A safe drawdown would range 10%-20%, while max drawdown would range within 35%-50% depending on your risk appetite.
Martingale/Grid
This is a strategy which projects a clean curve on every portfolio. The only downside is that the stacked trades one day may backfire and margin call your account in a single day. In my opinion, such a strategy has its pro and con and it would be difficult to even debate if it is suitable for investment since such a strategy is more towards probability game/ gambling with formula.
View the Best Forex EAs, the reviews and proven results and select the best FX Expert Advisors for Metatrader MT4 for your needs: https://www.best-forex-robots.com/l/broker-profit/
Read the Reviews
Before you settle on a forex robot, check out the reviews. You can assess the credibility of a forex robot by visit forex trading forums. Here, you can ask for advice about the forex robot you like or you can read posts about the robot by other members. Researching carefully can help you understand if a forex robot will be suited to your particular trading style and level of experience.
Ask for Back Testing Data
Any EA will have the back-testing data for more than 10 years. It would be tested on different pairs to ensure it is profitable on different market condition and best used on which currency pairs.
Check out the Live Trading Results
Request for live verified results. Usually, you can find real verified results either on myfxbook or FX Blue. Sometime EA developer will provide investor password for you to review their performance on a live account. I will only stick to EA with verified results since this is the only way to ensure profitability.
Summary Forex Robot is not a get rich quick solution, always ensure you have set up stable and consistent risk management on every EA to ensure long-lasting profitable trading experience. Forex is already considered as a high-risk product, therefore you should always do your money management properly to avoid over-leveraging.

Since I can't go to work - Day 1

Since I can't go to work - Day 1
Previous posts: Intro

Yesterday I took positions long in NZDJPY and GBPJPY and set a pending order sell grid under my entries. I'd entered both pairs due to them being in intra day trend upwards and having made new breakouts. Breakouts can lead to another move up. They can also retrace and this means stops are best outside of the range of the last move.

GBPJPY was fully profitable. It filled the sell orders and took profit on them and the buy closed at a profit of around 1%.

https://preview.redd.it/0c0w5u5a2so41.png?width=1352&format=png&auto=webp&s=6c52e9fe5453a0a5a01f30f2397a986de9ec18dd
The hedge orders came into effect once the first pullback turned into a lower low. The target for them was the next support level. Price reversed from the support without hitting my stop loss under it.

NZDJPY was partly profitable. It filled all sell orders and only one hit target. So it ran up at 1/3 of the initial risk to hit take profit. I have now sold another position at the resistance and adjusted my take profits on the lower sells to close at reduced loss. If I am stopped out all positions this is a bit over break even and if it retraces a bit over 1% is gained.

https://preview.redd.it/todlrf783so41.png?width=1360&format=png&auto=webp&s=82401d9cbb5887d6e599c652452d58cc6890c1a1

I want to keep buying NZDJPY up to 67 and I want to start to sell a bit over 67. When I am either stopped out or price retraces to let me out without loss I will then set up my next grid of orders to target this move. Either buying breakouts with a grid of orders to hedge retracement or buying retracement with orders to hedge reversal.

All closed trades so far. Open trades have around $250 at risk (close to stop loss now but resistance 67.75 maybe enough to give some retrace.

Technical Strategy for High Impact News Trading

After my 1:20 RR buys on EURUSD after the ECB event, I got a lot of questions about news trading.
These buys were a slight adaption of a strategy I have that is only for trading news events. I've attached a write up of the strategies engagement rules and risk controls to explain things I do and do not do in news events (If I trade them at all).

News Momentum Follow / Fade

Strategy Objective
To find opportunities where high RR trades can be achieved in short periods of time, due to increased volatility in the market after news events.

Strategy Method
The strategy is fully technical analysis based, but uses a trigger of strong moves on high impact news events to filter for trading opportunities. The news events have to be important (interest rates etc). Price action has to make a consistent move in the first 10 minutes (no whipsaw ranges).
The strategy will define areas before the news event where price might breakout in a trend, or reverse after a trend correction. These areas will be marked in, if there is strong momentum into these areas after the news event, the strategy will place limit orders to enter at strong RR prices.
When the news is against the trend, we are looking to fade it from key retrace areas. When it’s with the trend, we look for continuations after breakouts.

Strategy Engagement Rules
There must be high impact, scheduled news. This will usually only be interest rate decisions, although there will be some exceptions to this.
The pairs on watch lists must have overall trending conditions on larger charts, and support/resistance zones taken from these charts.
No action can be taken before the news event, or in the 10 minutes after the news event.
Market entries are not permitted. Limit orders must be used to reduce slippage risks.
Strong moves are required. Over 100 pips in the first 15 minute close.
A brief period of consolidation has to follow the initial spike. Even using limits, orders are not placed while price has strong momentum.

Strategy Risks
The obvious risks for this strategy are volatility and execution. It deals with these in multiple ways. Since entries are made after the news and during consolidation with limit orders, slippage on entries is not a problem. The main threat is slippage on stops. These will usually be 50 pips or so, so are unlikely to massively rack up larger losses in slips. Fills on profitable exits should be fine. These will usually take a few hours at least, and liquidity will have returned to normal.
The added volatility can add some more possible variance, but this is balanced out by good entries being able to get 1:10 RR trades in only hours.

Strategy Trading Frequency and Duration
This strategy will usually only trade on a few occasions per month. It’s trading activity will be centralised around the times there are interest rate decisions from major central banks. Losing trades will usually be complete in under 4 hours. Winning trades 12 - 18 hours.

Position Structure
Positions for this strategy will be opened in block of five trades. These will be limit orders spaced out evenly in a grid formation in a possible reversal zone. All positions will be of equal size and use the same amount of pips in stops, but have different profit targets at various RR points.

Money Management
This strategy uses the same amount of risk in all net positions.
Stop losses are applied when opening all trades to cap risk.
This can be as low as 0.1%, or even lower (on suitable funds).
No more than 1 losing trade allowed on one day.
No more than 4 losing trades allowed in one week.

Making money while travelling

I’m pretty new to the digital nomad world and I found it a bit difficult to crack at first seeing as I don’t have any real tech skills. I thought I would share how I have done it, because it is mostly entry level stuff that will be doable for a lot of other people.
So I have been travelling around Europe for the past six months, staying in Air BnBs and spending a few weeks in each place. To fund that I have been working online with DaDaABC, doing some private English lessons via Skype and also a bit of transcription through Rev.
First up - DaDaABC. I actually worked for DaDa a few years ago and it was terrible. I have a few years experience teaching ESL in a classroom, and found DaDa's materials and outlook to just be crap. However - when I decided to go travelling again, I resigned a six month contract with them and they are a million times better than what they were. The company is growing super quickly - and it is definitely improving as well.
I work 12-18 hours with them a week, over 4 days ( hours which I chose. You can do more or less). I have regular students who I really like. I actually find it to be a lot of fun. And I love that I can do it from anywhere in the world with reliable internet. I chose to work for Dada because they pay you half pay for standby time, which a lot of other online schools don't.
If anyone is interested - this is my referral link.
DaDaABC
Full disclosure, I do get a bonus if you sign up via this link.
My second income stream is from private students. I was working in a school and had some really great students. When I left the school, I let my students know that they could contact me for online lessons and some of them did. It works really well for me because the classes are at flexible times. Sometimes I might teach a student on a Tuesday morning, the next week I might teach the same student on a Friday afternoon - we just decide a mutually convenient time each week. If anyone is teaching ESL in a classroom setting, I recommend suggesting to your students to move your classes online when you leave.
I also make some money each week via Rev. I see a lot of people on here complaining about Rev, and I understand the complaints. I think those people however look at it with a different eye than I do. I really like Rev for the convenience of it. I've been with them for six months, they pay on time every week, and I can earn a little extra cash if and when I need it. Some weeks I barely do any typing at all, other weeks if I have more time, or I want to do something on my travels that is a little more expensive than I usually do, than I will just type more.
Starting out at Rev can be difficult because you dont have access to all of the audio files, but if you push through until you get upgraded to a Revver Plus, then there is usually a lot to choose from. I am very selective, I only choose files where the audio is clear, there aren't too many speakers and where they speak slowly.
I know people also complain about the money with Rev - and they're right, it's not great. But, for example, I am selective about my audio file choice, I type at around 70 words/ min, most files pay 50 cents / audio minute. Usually it will take me 3 minutes to transcribe one audio minute - so my pay rate usually works out at about $10 an hour. Which yeah, isn't great. But I'm okay with it because I'm generally doing it with a glass of wine in hand anyway.
My question to the group is – what should my next move be?
I am really happy with what these jobs have allowed me to do and thankful to have found them, but I don’t want to be doing something as mundane as transcription forever. I’m staying put in Turkey for the next few months, to save some money and also to give myself some more spare time to grow my portfolio a little bit and maybe explore some other revenue streams.
I have been applying for different blogging and writing jobs but haven’t had much success because I don’t have any experience in these areas. I know the money is in tech – but I think I would have to upskill quite a lot for that too. I’m a bit lost guys… Any suggestions?

The real reasons why Kerala can't even think of seceding from the union

There is so much of chest beating on how Kerala should secede and how it pays on outsize share of tax money that a counter was mandated.
becomes independent.
It needs to pay for things like border security and a full fledged military. That aside it will have to import key raw materials like coal and food materials, and without a central govt subsidising this, best of luck trying to buy it at international commodity market prices.
In addition to this, things that come under the center now, like railways the national power grid, National highway maintenance all will come under the state.
The bankrupt state of Kerala will become an economic basket case.
Just imagine Kerala outside the union and getting hit with a monsoon season like this...ggwp. Without the centre they will literally drown to their deaths.
This whole idea is stupidly retarded.
Furthermore on the whole "le epic HDI" argument,
It has the highest unemployment rate of all major states. Kerala's unemployment rate is 4x the national rate.
It has next to no manufacturing.
It receives in HDI in 15 years that Chennai and Bangalore (not even the entire state) does in less than a year.
It is quite literally bankrupt. Read this. Commercial taxes have actually taken a nose dive after 2012 which indicates declining economic activity.
It has next to no IT services.
Broadly speaking, it's exports total something like $ 2bn annually, and this is mostly Agri commodities, chemicals / rare Earth minerals. Throw in shipbuilding in case it becomes independent and it will still barely make any forex outside of remittances
Why despite having the first IT sez in the country do they export a fraction of what Delhi, Mumbai, Hyd, Bangalore and Chennai export?
Why despite all that literacy have the consistently voted absolutely shit governments that have driven the state finances into the ground?
This Kerala is some superior state myth needs to die, that's the only way it stands a chance of progressing.
The major edge it had was that it's state literacy rate was 30% when the national average was 12%. That allowed it to export labour and basic white collar jobs to the gulf which coincidentally saw the oil boom and needed said labour and white collar jobs.
As a state it has literally nothing going for it as of now. Even look at the much vaunted HDI data and you will see stagnation as other states rapidly catch up.
In 1980, India had an average score of 0.32 on the index (which falls in the low HDI score) with some states like Bihar or UP falling in the sub 0.25 mark which is the lowest possible score. States like Maha and TN also fell in the low HDI region with scores sub 0.300. Kerala was at the 0.55 score which was in the medium HDI category. The differential was almost 43% between the national avg and Kerala. Similar difference between TN / Maha and Kerala.
In 2007-2008, national avg was at 0.513, Kerala at 0.79. Differential being 36%. Maha and TN at 0.57 and the difference here was down to 28%.
In 2015, Kerala was at 0.71, National avg at 0.60. Differential being 16% or 1/3rd what it was in 1980. Maha & TN at 0.66 so the difference here being 8%.
Even the much reviled (by mellus) Gujarat was at 0.52 in 2008 (differential at 35%) vs in 2015 where the Differential is 15%
At this rate, industrialised states like Maha, TN & Guj will have better HDI than Kerala within this decade. Not just that but a whole host of states like Haryana, HP, Karnataka all will either catch up or leave behind Kerala in the HDI stakes within this decade.
Even the "BIMARU" states are slowly catching up.
The Differential between MP and Kerala in 1990 was something like 70%, in 2005 this was at 55% and in 2015 this is at 33%. .
Why is the rest of India (for the most part) progressing while Kerala is stagnant? Because these states have increasing revenue profiles which means more to spend on the social sector while the gulf remmitances haven't really kept up and are predicted to actually drop, and they even actually dropped a full 11% between 2014 and 16 and is only now inching towards 2013-14 levels. With immigration dropping and the gulf economies slowing down this problem is not going to go away anytime soon.
I think I have made my case pretty black and white. Unless Kerala gets it's act together, it's only going to get worse while India overall moves ahead. Whining about "muh beef Aryan Invasion HDI" is not going to be able to sustain it's economy. Lol, this is a state that imports 70% of it's power from outside the state and whose SEB was (till project UDAY) so bankrupt that it couldn't even pay it's employees and they want to secede? Best of luck with that noise. No power, no jobs, increased spending on defense, everything from coal to refined oil will need to be imported, with no matching exports would mean a ruinous trade deficit

"Q" from a laymen, barney style... Just my thoughts

A bit long, but I think it might help people understand Qubic a bit.
Two takeaways I took from reading Qubic:
  1. If you host a "Q-Node", a node that supports the Q protocol (layer) you can earn rewards in these manners: Offering PoW (mining rigs, computer, or your coffee pot), PoS (your IOTA's that you hold), your bandwidth that you don't use (probably something to do with LIFI in the future, so this could be your router and lightbulbs in your house), and simply, the previous history of running an honest node for the system.
All of the above can be used to pass the "resource test phase". All of those resources: PoW, PoS, Po(Bandwidth), and Po(Honesty) are measured and quantified. Your resources than essentially set you in an equivalent resource pool ie: in a pool with other people of similar resource power.
You then earn IOTA's from people using the Oracle system, smart contract, or simply who want computational power (which is absolutely needed to be able to outsource the IoT industry which is for sure the future.
So what does that mean.
Before do you remember all of the questions: IOTA won't work because people won't run nodes, because they don't get incentives like traditional blockchains. Well now they can!!! And not only that, "Q" takes every aspect of each crypto and combines it all in one...
PoS, PoW, PoBandwidth, and PoHonesty.
More so, if you have Asic's, you are in the Asic's pool, GPU's, your in the GPU pool, old crappy computer (your in the old crappy computer pool), you stake a lot of IOTA, your in the high stake IOTA pool... etc.
People will purchase "resources" using the Qubic protocol. If they want quality, fast, or extreme computational power they have to pay.
Remember, you the user set what you want to receive in IOTA for your resources (economic principles). If you spend $1200 a month on electricity and equipment, you will only charge more than $1200 a month. No one would charge less. So in your pool, everyone will eventually come to a quorum charging a set amount, and thus the economy (the users) will pay for it. So in essence, the better the pool, the more the reward you get (based on economic principals in society (just like blockchain).
However, if your coffee pot has a jinn chip that is Ternary hardware, with Ternary programming (ABRA), than it can sell it's resources when it's not making coffee ie: PoW.
Also, your autonomous car not only can offer up its PoW, it can also stake the IOTA's it is not using in it's wallet, the bandwidth when it isn't working or driving, and the experience / honesty factor it has as a node, and even the electricity it made from it's solar power roof and sell it to the grid. Your car has "multiple" resources. The Qubic network allows machines to offer "all" of their resources, not just one or two like blockchain.
Qubics revolutionizes machinery allowing it, the machinery, to sell it's resources. This is another building block to the ultimate vision of a machines acting in a "machine economy".
Rather than us setting this up, and the fees we want to charge, eventually we can create smart contracts with Qubic functions, so the machines can negotiate and earn "themselves", the machines will sell and buy resources THEMSELVES, truly creating a machine economy, "AND" if you own the machine, you earn the rewards (ie: income, passive income).
Take Away Two:
  1. From the above description these are only a few use cases that I take away from reading about Qubics. The reality is that the community will be coming up with new use cases every day for the following year probably. Use cases that we can't even imagine, but here is my second takeaway:
The Qubic protocol, where all this is happening. Miners earning, people staking their IOTA and earning (ie: "interest" or "passive income") because they are HODLER's, Forex financial companies using Qubics for quorum "ORACLE" data, smart-contracts being run on the protocol, scientist using computational power for medical research, VW and Bosch using computational power for their IoT devices, etc. on and on. All those use cases, to power.... TO POWER, to run the network, all of those functions will be conducted with zero fee transactions that take place on the Tangle.
The whole system runs on data transactions (zero fee transactions) by sending MetaData on the transaction which is sent on the Tangle. Meta Data essentially (I'm not a techie) is like the language that tells the Q-Nodes to wake up, to process data, pay, earn, and receive, and essentially run the whole Q network.
So.... that is a SHITLOAD OF FUCKING transactions occurring!!!!!! So the present day amount of transactions right now occuring from Trinity, speculation, and trading, is like a pissing in the ocean compared to how many transactions the Qubic network will produce. Its not hard to understand, the Qubic network will run millions if not billions of transactions per day over the Tangle, and remember, "each transaction confirms two transactions ;-)".
So.... what does that mean. More transactions means a faster Tangle, a more secure Tangle.... and most importantly.... WE CAN TAKE THE COO (Coordinator) OFFLINE!!!
note: there may be use cases for multiple COO's (coordinators) or private COO's but that is a whole other arena and I simply state that from something I read from someone on Discord.
The point is: Q is needed to remove the COO!
So everyone saying, "Why don't the dev's fucking working on removing the COO, "wen remove COO", you can see that THEY ARE working on it!". The Qubic network will support the network because it incentives people to host nodes and earn IOTA!.
Also, if no one uses the Qubic network then it doesn't work right?!? So making "Corporate Partners", and United Nations (NGO) affiliates, is needed to support the Qubic Network.
So here are the building blocks to the dev's vision:
- You need a Tangle (Zero fee transactions that can that can send meta data)
- You need IOTA (A form of payment that can buy and sell resources (ie: PoW, PoS, PoBandwidth, and PoHonesty)
- You need the Qubic Network (creates Oracles, allows for Quorum Based Computations that powers Oracles.)
- You need Oracles (Oracles power smart-contracts which is the whole shabang! It will change society and change global finance).
- You need the Qubic Network (creates Oracles, this allows for Quorum Based Computations that powers Oracles.)et to enjoy because the IF includes us (with AMA's, takes time in discord, and offers transparency), and global partners such as Bosch, VW, Fujitsu, etc., We need governments and societies such as Taiwan, Denmark, and maybe Sweden; and we need banking like DnB, and electrical companies like Elaad (I think I stated ELaad incorrectly). We need the global integration to actually "use" the Qubic system for it to work (demand drives economic principals, which ultimately will pay the Q-Node providers)
- Lastly, you need to remove the COO and let the network grow organically. (This can only be done when all of the previous steps have been completed).
Tangle ->IOTA ->Qubic Network ->Oracles ->Partners -> COO
So removing the COO is one of the last steps. After removing COO the network can just grow organically on it's own without much support or help from the dev's. They can then work on building applications that work on top of the Qubic network.
This is a large challenging undertaking that is being built step-by-step, each piece is part of a large puzzle that all comes together. As for Qubic's, what was just released, it is a really large damn piece of that puzzle!!!
It just goes to show, that all of this adds up to removing the COO. Everything the dev's, and the IF, have been doing are working towards simply that! It's all one big construct, not different pieces, everything ties together and the Qubic network is a large friggin piece of it all. Their sole mission is to complete the puzzle, the vision, so the COO can be removed, and the Tangle can literally change society through the machine economy.
This is just my non-techie understanding at the moment. I have a lot more research and studying to do, but damn I love it! So glad to be apart of this journey :D
Please clarify if I totally misunderstood anything, and looking forward to hear other peoples understanding.
